Elisabeth Frink
Elisabeth Frink was born in Thurlow, Suffolk in 1930 and studied at Guildford School of Art and Chelsea School of Art. She was widely recognised as the greatest British sculptor of her generation and established herself as a printmaker of major importance. more
She was awarded the OBE in 1969 and in 1982 was created Dame of the British Empire. She died in 1993. Her brilliant drawing and graphic works have the same dignity, mystery and simplicity of form that is found in her sculpture. Men,dogs,horses and birds were constant subject matter throughout her career and many critics have commented that there is an 'other worldy' quality to all her images
