‘Woman’ by Geoffrey Key. We are pleased to have recently acquired an early painting by the sought after Lancashire artist Geoffrey Key. Mixed media on paper, signed and dated by the artist, date 1973.

Geoffrey Key was born in Manchester in 1941. He attended Manchester’s High School of Art and Manchester’s Regional College of Art where he was trained by the respected painter Harry Rutherford. His post graduate studies were in sculpture and his academic awards include the Heywood Medal in Fine Art and The Guthrie Bond Travelling Scholarship.

An excellent draughtsman, he is an artist who is able to express his own personal and individual language though work which is confident and compelling.

From the 1960′s he has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad and his work, which is highly sought after, is held in numerous private and public collections.
