Drawings by Jake Attree

2 October 2015

Jake Attree was born in 1950 and studied at York College of Art and Liverpool College of Art. From 1974 to 1977  he went on to train at The Royal Academy of Arts during which time he was awarded the Creswick Landscape Prize, The Landseer Figure Prize, The David Murray Scholarship and The Bronze Turner Medal.

He is a gifted draughtsman and has described his drawing of the city and landscape as a compulsion. We are pleased to have recently acquired a selection of drawings of his home village Saltaire, the World Heritage Site which was built by the Victorian mill owner and philanthropist Sir Titus Salt.
